Christy Sports Announces Strategic Expansion with New Stores in Aspen and Telluride

Outdoor rental and retail service provider, Christy Sports, has announced the opening of four new stores this winter in Aspen and Telluride, Colorado. The prominent service provider is known for aiding its customers to #stepoutside, now seeks to enrich the sporting experience by providing year-round specialised outdoor rental and retail services. The company has reinstated its foothold in Aspen with a new location inside the St Regis Resort, after staying away from the market for thirty years. This development comes amid Christy Sports’ continued strategic expansion into areas previously vacated by Vail Resorts.

Christy Sports’ Chief Development and Strategy Officer, Gary Montes de Oca, expressed the company’s excitement to grow strategically by offering current and new customers an opportunity to experience their world-class service at these new locations. He highlighted their commitment to providing an omnichannel service network at maximum convenience to enhance guests’ outdoor experiences in the Rockies and beyond. Part of this expansion includes the opening of distinct stores in Telluride, encompassing a flagship Alpineer store on Main Street and two others in Telluride’s Mountain Village.

The Aspen store, located at 303 East Durant Street, will offer high-quality equipment, outerwear, and casual wear throughout the winter. Additional services include skillful boot fitting, precision tuning, and repair services. A diverse range of rental options for hike, bike, and electric vehicles, along with a selection of high-end summer resort wear, active gear, and accessories, will be available during the summer season.

In Telluride, prospects include the new full-service Alpineer store at 150 W Colorado Ave, a second Alpineer outlet, and a Christy Sports Snowboard store. All locations will provide rental and demo services along with specialized retail product offerings. The opening of these new stores is part of Christy Sports’ commitment to maintaining exceptional service and will contribute to a more holistic service experience throughout the region.

Dan Fox, Chief Store Operations Officer at Christy Sports, emphasised the significance of their return to Aspen, hoping to fill the service void for outdoor enthusiasts in the region. The team is enthusiastic to enhance guests’ experience and broaden their partnerships across Aspen and Telluride. The new locations opened over the fall and are currently serving guests.

Since its inception in 1958, Colorado-based Christy Sports has exemplified exceptional service in the outdoor retail and rental industry, operating more than 60 locations across Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Washington, and Montana. Besides offering a wide range of retail merchandise in its stores and e-commerce sites, the company also provides rental and equipment services.

Christy Sports is also known for operating businesses related to Patio Furniture, Hiking, Cycling, Watersports, and Tennis during spring and summer, encouraging their customers to lead healthy, lifestyle-rich experiences. These new locations reflect Christy Sports’ commitment to facilitating outdoor activities and ultimately prompting customers to #stepoutside.
