Veteran Entrepreneurs Launch Jeffco Legends Business Journal

A new business journal, Jeffco Legends, will spotlight the business goings-on of Jefferson County, Colorado. The platform aims to deliver actionable information, analysis and data tools—a non-traditional news-delivery vehicle.

The site — www.jeffcolegends.com — offers annual data subscriptions that include unlimited downloads of sales leads (updated daily) for a year, as well as views of rankings, profiles and related news stories and headlines.

Jeffco Legends is the brainchild of two veteran entrepreneurs of Jefferson County, Colo. The owners, Dan Feiveson and Doug Hopley, have operated Lakewood-based company Legendary Data since 2011—a software publisher serving, primarily, business journals and trade publications. The firm’s software currently supports the data products and research teams of more than 75 publications in North America, including American City Business Journals, BridgeTower Media and Crain Communications.

Feiveson and Hopley founded Jeffco Legends in 2024 after years of lamenting the absence of a business journal in their home county and for as many years wondering if they might be the ones to give it a go. In the end they decided to launch Jeffco Legends not as an online version of a print-based business journal but rather as a data offering: a fully-integrated subscription product that links together local businesses with headlines, articles and continuously updated rankings in the hopes that such a product would become an indispensable tool for connecting local businesses to one another.
