Ur-Energy Appoints New Vice President of Regulatory Affairs
Ur-Energy Inc., a Jeffco-based uranium mining company responsible for the Lost Creek in-situ recovery uranium facility in Wyoming, has announced the appointment of Ryan S. Schierman as its Vice President of Regulatory Affairs.
“We are pleased to expand our executive team with the addition of Ryan Schierman as our Vice President Regulatory Affairs,” stated Ur-Energy Chairman and CEO, John Cash. He proceeded to commend Schierman’s well-known industry reputation as a professional with expertise in regulatory compliance, environmental health, and safety matters.
Before joining Ur-Energy, Schierman built his career at several institutions including Fluor/Idaho Environmental Coalition, a contractor for the US Department of Energy. He provided valuable contributions to the uranium recovery industry in roles such as the Wyoming Uranium Recovery Program Manager between 2015-2020. This role, along with his qualifications (a B.S. in Environmental Science from Brigham Young University, an M.Sc. in Health Physics from Idaho State University, and being a Certified Health Physicist) make him a reputable figure in the industry.
Schierman’s new role is critical as Ur-Energy prepares its second in-situ recovery uranium facility in Wyoming, named Shirley Basin, for operation. The company is also seeking to expand further, with the goal of obtaining any remaining amendments necessary for Lost Creek’s expansion.
Ur-Energy’s shares are primarily traded on the NYSE American under the symbol “URG” and the Toronto Stock Exchange under the “URE”. The company has its corporate office headquartered in Littleton, Colorado, and its registered office in Ottawa, Ontario.
