Andrea Burch To Helm Wheat Ridge Lutheran Medical Center
Andrea Burch, MS, RN, NEA-BC, has ascended to the role of President at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado as announced on April 10, 2024. Burch filled the interim president role at Lutheran since February, succeeding Scott Peek, who transitioned to President in Denver and also serves as Intermountain Health’s Front Range Market President.
Burch will oversee the integration of Lutheran into the Intermountain Health system and spearhead the center’s migration to its new facility at Clear Creek Crossing in Wheat Ridge this summer. Scott Peek praised Burch, saying, “Andrea’s experience leading Lutheran’s operations and nursing staff, as well as her outstanding leadership of the upcoming move, will serve Lutheran, its caregivers, and the community in a bright new future full of opportunity.”
Responding to her appointment, Burch stated, “Lutheran is near and dear to my heart, with its wonderful caregivers, unique culture, and strong community relationships. Over the years, we have experienced many challenges and successes and now look toward an exciting future. It is a deep honor and privilege to be asked to lead the organization through this next phase. I am confident that we will continue to grow and advance the excellent care our community expects from us.”
Before ascending to her role, Burch carved a career in nursing and healthcare leadership. Starting as a certified nursing assistant in high school, she found her calling and pursued both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing and healthcare administration at Regis University. Since joining Lutheran in 2008, Burch has held various positions including Clinical Nurse Manager and Director of Critical Care and Emergency Services. In 2016, she was appointed Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer.
Throughout her career, Burch has earned numerous awards including the Colorado State Nightingale Winner in Leadership, a GE Academy of Nursing Fellow Graduate, and inclusion into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, among others.
