Zions Bancorporation Announces Key Leadership Changes Effective April 1, 2024
Zions Bancorporation (NASDAQ: ZION) today disclosed a suite of executive leadership transformations which will take effect from April 1, 2024. The amendments affect both Zions Bank, the corporation’s most extensive banking division, and the parent organization.
A. Scott Anderson, who has capably served as president and CEO of Zions Bank since 1998, is set to relinquish his managerial responsibilities following a notable 33-year tenure at the bank. Post-retirement, Anderson will assume the role of non-executive chairman of Zions Bank.
In a succession plan, Paul E. Burdiss, the current executive vice president and chief financial officer of Zions Bancorporation since 2015, will succeed Anderson as the president and CEO of Zions Bank. R. Ryan Richards, who has performed the role of the corporation’s corporate controller for the past two years, is set to become the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Zions Bancorporation.
Additionally, Thomas E. Laursen, the current general counsel of Zions Bancorporation, is set to retire. Rena Miller, who currently has the role of the corporation’s deputy general counsel, will replace Laursen.

Throughout his tenure, Anderson’s leadership was instrumental in strengthening the bank’s presence in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming.
